RoastWerk is one system for green bean inventory, roast profiles, production planning and wholesale orders — built for roasteries turning 100 to 1,000 kg a month. It is not finished, and that is the point: we are looking for eight roasteries to build the rest of it with us.

The problem

It's Wednesday afternoon.

Fourteen wholesale orders are due Friday. Three of them are blends. You think you have enough of the Doi Chang natural to cover them, but you're not certain, because the last delivery went into the store room and the spreadsheet hasn't been touched since Monday.

So you go and count bags.

Then you work out the roast plan on paper, because the spreadsheet doesn't know that a 12 kg blend order consumes 4.2 kg of one lot and 8.6 kg of another at your usual loss. Then you roast. Then you invoice, from a different spreadsheet, and hope the two agree.

RoastWerk is the system that already knows the answer to all four of those questions.

Green bean inventory

Every lot, every origin, every kilo — with what's committed to open orders already subtracted. Stock counts down as you roast, not when you remember to update a sheet.

Roast profiles and blends

Store your profiles and blend recipes with their ratios. A blend knows which lots it draws on, so ordering 20 kg of your house blend tells you exactly what it costs you in green.

Daily roast planning

Turn this week's orders into a roast schedule that fits your drum and your week. See what you can't fulfil before Friday, not on Friday.

Wholesale orders

Take standing and one-off orders from your cafés, track what's roasted against what's promised, and invoice from the same numbers you roasted to.

Whether this fits you

Built for you if

  • You roast between 100 and 1,000 kg a month.
  • Wholesale is a real part of your business — cafés, offices, other retailers.
  • You currently run on spreadsheets, and you have felt the moment where two of them disagree.
  • You have someone who can spend half an hour with us every couple of weeks.

Not for you yet if

  • You roast at home or below about 50 kg a month. Artisan is free and does what you need.
  • You're above 5,000 kg a month or need direct integration with your roaster's PLC. We don't do machine telemetry, and Cropster does it well.
  • You only need roast curve logging. That's a different product.
  • You need this working perfectly on day one. It's a pilot.
The pilot

Eight roasteries, ninety days

RoastWerk works, but it's young. Rather than sell it to people who'll find its gaps alone, we're running a short pilot with eight roasteries who'll find them with us.

What you get

  • Full access to everything, free for the ninety days.
  • Your data migrated from whatever you're on now — we'll do the import.
  • A direct line to the person building it, not a support queue.
  • Founding price locked for twelve months when we launch.

What we ask

  • Use it for real production, not as an experiment on the side.
  • Half an hour with us every two weeks. Six calls in total.
  • Tell us when it's wrong. Bluntly.

What it will cost later

Between $50 and $200 a month at launch, banded by how much you roast. Under 500 kg a month sits at the bottom of that range.

You'll know your band before the pilot ends, and nothing starts charging automatically. If you don't want to continue, you export everything and walk.

Questions we get asked

Is my data safe if RoastWerk doesn't make it?

Fair question for any young product. You can export everything — beans, lots, profiles, orders, invoices — to CSV at any time, without asking us. If we ever shut down we'll give 90 days' notice and a full export.

Does it connect to my roaster?

No. RoastWerk doesn't read machine telemetry or draw live roast curves. It manages the business around the roast — stock, planning, orders, invoicing. If you log curves in Artisan, keep doing that.

Can I import what I already have?

Yes, and during the pilot we'll do it for you. Send us your spreadsheets in whatever state they're in.

What happens when the pilot ends?

You'll get your price band before day 90 and decide then. Nothing bills automatically, and there's no contract to get out of.

What languages does it work in?

The application is in English today. German, Thai and Simplified Chinese are planned, and pilot roasters get a say in which comes first.
